ResiDental was created to make dental residency information more accessible, transparent, and comparable through the perspective of current residents.
Our goal is not to replace program websites, but to complement them by providing the details applicants are often looking for: training structure, operative experience, program culture, resident life, and other insights that are difficult to find in a consistent format.
As our platform grows, we hope each residency program will have a resident-created overview that reflects the unique strengths and personality of that program.

Complete Our Resident Template
We provide a structured template that allows you to complete your program overview at your own pace. Once submitted, we'll format it for the website and send you a preview for approval.
Option 2
Resident Interview
Don't feel like typing it out? Schedule a brief 15-20 minute call with our team. We'll ask guided questions about your program, write the program overview for you, and send you a draft to review before anything is published.

About ResiDental
ResiDental is a centralized directory built to help dental students explore residency programs through both objective program information and authentic resident perspectives. By gathering insights on information such as training structure, operative experience, program culture, and lifestyle into a consistent format, applicants can easily compare programs and better understand what makes each one unique. We believe this to be a resource that benefits applicants, residents, and residency programs alike by helping applicants find the environments where they'll thrive.
Our Inspiration
As two third-year dental students pursuing OMFS, we quickly realized how difficult it was to learn about residency programs online in a meaningful way. Piecing together information from program websites and social media was inconsistent and still left us feeling like we didn't have the full picture. The most valuable resource we discovered was the OMFS Program Overview forum on SDN. These resident-written overviews offered something no other resource could: a look into the program's culture, operative experience, training structure, and lifestyle from the perspective of the people living it every day.
However, even this resource had its limitations. The forum was difficult to discover, and navigating long discussion threads made it challenging to find which programs had overviews, compare programs side by side, or quickly gather the information you were looking for. We wanted to build a platform that preserved everything that made these resident overviews so valuable while addressing the challenges that made them difficult to use.
While externships and interviews remain the best way to truly understand a program, they require significant time and financial commitments, making it impossible to experience every program firsthand. Our hope is to help applicants make more informed decisions about where to invest their time and resources by making residency information more transparent, accessible, and comparable for future generations of applicants.
