Program Snapshot
Minnesota
Mayo Clinic OMS is a six-year, MD-integrated residency program with a national reputation for clinical excellence and comprehensive surgical training. The program trains two residents per year in a high-acuity, consultant-driven academic environment. Residents gain exposure to the full scope of OMFS, including dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathics, trauma, TMJ surgery, benign and malignant pathology, reconstruction, cleft surgery, and care of complex medically compromised patients. The department is staffed by six full-time academic consultants focused on patient care, education, and research. Training emphasizes graduated autonomy, technical precision, and evidence-based decision-making, supported by Mayo Clinic’s institutional resources. Graduates are well prepared for academic careers, competitive fellowships, or high-level private practice.
